Invader is an anonymous French street artist born in 1969 who is known for creating pixelated mosaic art, inspired by classic 1970s and 1980s video games like Space Invaders, which is the source of his pseudonym. Starting in Paris in 1998, he "invades" cities worldwide by placing his colorful tile mosaics in public spaces, often at night, and documents his work through maps and books. He is a contemporary of artists like Shepard Fairey and Banksy and was featured in the 2010 documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop.
